Morning Marty,
Kids, especially grandkids, have a way of making you realize how old you really are. I had the priviledge of caring for Abby this past Friday. Now I know in my last story about her I said she was 3 well she is actually 4. It seems she ages at the same rate as I do.... one year at a time.... just that I am trying not to rush things.
Well children will be children and Abby won't let me forget how old I am.....
She spent the day climbing on my knee... laying across my legs... on my belly... simply making me feel like a big comfy chair.
Then late in the day this conversation occured...
Abby..... "Are you really old Poppa"?
Me (in jest, sort of)... " Yes Abby, I am". "Why"? (mistake)
Abby..... "You're going to die soon, right"? (Uhhh now what?)
Me (don't lie).... " Well yes, but not too soon". "I hope".
Abby.... " I'm going to miss you".
Bob H
Thanks Bob H.
