The first three photos are of famous George Street - party time folks, every night of the week - great entertainment, food and drink.
This is where I met the constable with The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (he's the one who told me about the drug sniffing dogs on board the ferries) He's also responsible for introducing me to Newfoundland screech - can't drink too much of that stuff, but I did anyway!!
We took a boat tour out to Puffin Island - thousands upon thousands of birds - kinda reminded me of that Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" - The puffins are an amazing bird, very distinct, kinda like the penguin!! The other birds, not the seagulls, are called murre and like the puffin we had never seen one before!!
The bird watchers in the tent - I have no idea if they worked for the government or university or if they just liked to study birds.
After circling the island we headed further out on the ocean in search of whales - we really lucked out!!
